I am using Windows DVD Maker and am wondering if there is any ability to customize the scenes or chapters. I don't like the way that the software seems to have automatically done them. Please let me know, thanks. I've attached below a question and answerfrom Chris, Microsoft Support Engineer.Jim GravittChrisMicrosoft Answers Support Engineer replied to a question about chapters in Windows DVD Maker as follows:Hi Dipper16,Thanks for using the Answers Forum.Scenes are created for your DVD based on the type and number of files that you add to the DVD. You can have more control over how scenes appear on your DVD by understanding how scenes are created in Windows DVD Maker. Hello jagbest,Thanks for using the Microsoft Answers ForumWe will need information regarding what features you would like to customize from within DVD Maker.

Windows DVD Maker is hopeless. It's Microsoft's usual half-assed attempt to stop people going out and buying something better. Straight off, one very, very basic feature that's missing is the ability to add chapters at particular times in the video. Havea look at DVD Styler to see how it does it: it allows you to specify a list of times in hh:mm:ss.mmm that it will use for chapters. SO much better than the limited approach adopted by Windows DVD Maker.
It will also allow you to specify a particular frameto use for the menu button that will play each chapter AND it will do what the other poster asks and stop playback when a chapter finishes playing. When I had Vista I absolutely loved its Movie Maker. Then Win 7 came along and really made it difficult so I stopped using it because when I STACKED on more than one video, it automatically made hundreds of Chapters and did not allow me to ADD second videodespite using the CNTL key.It just REPLACED the first one and on the second one, another 489 Chapters.I want to make a disc, blu-ray, with 3 or 4 Episodes of a PBS series and have an menu on front for my wife to pick the Episode she would like to watch. Sounds simple? I will say, other Software makers have the same issue, they want ONE videoon a disc and lots of Chapters but I assumed since the Vista model did not automatially make Chapters, Microsoft should be able to program in this option of MAKING it an option.IF I want NO Chapters and just the 3 or 4 Episodes, with a MENU on the front,HOW do I do it with MM 2.6?4037????Shouldn't we be able to STOP Chapter making and, stack several videos on 2.6 like the Vista version?ALL you need to do is MAKE CHAPTERS an OPTION and I think all these posts will go away.
